Malaria elimination Program
ACLAB has been materializing Malaria Control Program at Chakaria and Pekua Upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district since July 2007 as a sub-recipient under the leadership of BRAC consortium. This program is being supervised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with financial support from GFATM. The objective of the program is to control Malaria in the identified regions of the country through preventive and curative activities. Some major activities of the project are – providing clinical services through Lab Centers comprising of diagnostic, treatment, and referral services; creating community awareness & advocacy; Mosquito Net distribution and treatment etc. In December 2019, blood of a total number of 48,956 persons (Male -35,653, Female – 13,303 & Children – 4,432) have been tested of whom a total of 276 persons (Male – 240, Female – 36 and Children – 9) have been detected positive and a total of 276 persons (Male – 240, Female – 36 and Children – 9) have received treatment. During the period, a total number of 74,500 mosquito nets have been distributed and 38,306 household being covered under the treatment.
