ORBIS International President and CEO Kathleen Sherwin Visits Eye Care Services in Rohingya Camp 10, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar
On 19 April 2026, Kathleen Sherwin, President and CEO of ORBIS International, visited an outreach eye screening programme in Rohingya Camp No. 10 in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar. The programme is being implemented by Alliance for Cooperation and Legal Aid Bangladesh (ACLAB) with support from ORBIS International.
The visit offered an opportunity to observe how community-based eye care services are reaching some of the most vulnerable populations through early screening, referral, and treatment pathways.
During the visit, Ms. Sherwin witnessed firsthand the ongoing efforts to improve access to essential eye care services for Rohingya refugees and host communities in the camp area.
Dr. Munir Ahmed, Country Director of ORBIS International Bangladesh, and Syed Tarikul Islam, Executive Director of ACLAB, were also present during the visit.
