A national non-government development organization was established in 1987 to improve the socio-economic conditions of the poor and disadvantaged people of the country.
ACLAB is registered with the Department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare and the NGO Affairs Bureau, GOB. The organization is affiliated with the Directorate of Family Planning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; the Directorate of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
In 1998, ACLAB started work on the issue of HIV/AIDS/STI with the people at risk. Its works with the high risks people were financially supported by HASAB, UNICEF, UNDP, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Social Welfare, etc.
